How the company directors works
Before you sign with a company, it helps to know who is behind it: who can sign for it, who sits on its board, who owns it. The person you are talking to should usually be one of them.
Enter the company's number with its country to go straight to it, or its name to pick the best match. The answer lists the people and organisations holding a role in the company now — chief executive, chair, directors and board members, owners with significant control, the company secretary and the auditor — with the date each role started where it is published. Roles that have ended are counted, and the API lists them on request.
We hold business roles only: a name, a role and its dates. Never a date of birth, a home address or a personal email or phone number. Anyone can ask to be removed.
What each field means

- What the person or organisation does in the company: chief executive, chair, director, board member, owner, secretary, auditor.

- executive, board, owner, secretary or auditor — for sorting and filtering.
- Appointed / ended
- When the role started and ended, where published.
Where this check stops
- Coverage: the United Kingdom (owners with significant control), Norway (chief executive, chair and board, partners, auditor and accountant) and US listed companies (directors, officers and 10% owners, by the company's US filer number, the central index key). Other countries are being added.
- A name in a role is not proof that the person you are dealing with is that person.
- Records change over time; a role that started or ended in the last few days may not show yet.

Why are UK directors missing?
For UK companies we currently show the owners with significant control; directors and secretaries are being added.
Why are there no dates for Norwegian roles?
The records we hold for Norway publish who holds each role today, but not when the role started. Roles that have ended are marked as former.
Can I be removed?
Yes. Use the removal form on our people data page (/privacy/people); your role is left out of every answer as soon as you confirm the request by email.
Do you show contact details?
No. Never personal email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses or dates of birth.
