How the email finder works
Most companies give every employee an address in the same format: jane.doe@, jdoe@, jane@ and a dozen others. Know the format and the name, and you know the address. The hard part is knowing the format, and that is what this tool works out.
We read the company's own pages — contact, team, press and about pages — and look at the addresses of people printed there. Their shapes tell us the format the company uses: how many fit first.last, how many fit flast, and so on. Only the format is kept; the addresses themselves are neither stored nor shown. When a company prints no addresses, we fall back to the most common format for companies on the same mail provider and say so.
The name is then turned into an address in that format. Accents are folded (José becomes jose, Ødegård becomes odegard), hyphens and surname particles such as van or de are handled, and the likeliest other spellings are listed as alternatives.
Free-mail and disposable domains are not searched: the finder is for work addresses at companies.
What each field means
- Confidence
- High: the company's format was learned from several of its addresses and they agree. Medium: some evidence. Low: the most common format, nothing learned.
- Mailbox
- valid or invalid when the company's mail server answered; accept all when it accepts every address; unknown when no mail server was asked.
- Alternatives
- Other likely addresses for the same person, best first.
Where this check stops
- An address in the right format is not proof that the mailbox exists: unless the mailbox status says valid, treat it as likely, not certain.
- Large companies sometimes give newer staff a different format (for example a number after a common name).
- Nicknames and names written differently from how the company knows the person will give a different address.

Frequently asked
Do you send an email to check?
No. Nothing is ever sent to the address.
Do you show addresses you found on the web?
No. The only address shown is the one computed from the name you entered. Addresses on a company's pages are used to learn its format and are not kept.
Can I find gmail addresses?
No. Only company domains are searched.
Can someone ask not to be found?
Yes. A person who opts out is not returned.
