How the disposable email checker works
Disposable email services hand out an inbox that needs no registration and usually vanishes within hours. They are useful to people who want to avoid a newsletter, and they are the first tool of anyone farming free trials, referral credits or fake reviews. If your sign-up form accepts them, every limit you put on a free account is one new address away from being bypassed.
This checker takes the part after the @ and compares it, and every parent domain, against our list of several thousand disposable-mail domains. A subdomain such as inbox.throwaway.example matches when throwaway.example is listed. We also tell you whether the domain is a free consumer provider (a real, personal inbox) and whether it accepts mail at all, because a domain that cannot receive mail is a different problem from a throwaway one.
Use the result as one signal at sign-up: block or slow down disposable domains, and ask for a work address where your product is meant for businesses. The same check runs in the API as part of email validation, so the answer you see here is the answer your code gets.
What each field means
- Disposable
- The domain, or a parent of it, is a known throwaway service.
- Free mail provider
- A consumer mailbox such as a webmail account: real, but not a company address.
- Accepts mail
- The domain has a working mail setup in DNS right now.
Where this check stops
- A miss means not detected; it does not prove the mailbox exists or is read by a person.
- New disposable services appear every week. The list date is shown with every result.
The same check, through the API
Same calculation, same answer, with a key. 5 credits per check ($0.50 per 1,000). A free account includes 1,000 credits a month.

Frequently asked
Is a free webmail address disposable?
No. Free providers give a person a lasting inbox. We report them separately so you can decide whether a personal address is acceptable for your product.
Do you send a message to the address?
No. Nothing is sent and the mailbox is never contacted. The check uses the domain only.
How often is the list updated?
It is rebuilt on a regular schedule, so newly seen throwaway domains are added.
